Fae Swim Review

Maven Top in Silver – Size Small
Vada Bottom in Silver – Size Medium

This year for my birthday I went on a trip to Aruba. I had been eyeing this Silver (limited edition) Fae Swim bikini for a couple of months and finally decided to purchase because I knew it would be perfect for my trip! I always tend to take way too long deciding on a bikini style and color before ordering online and this was no exception. Hopefully my full review on my Fae Swim Bikini experience is helpful!

SIZING

Fae Swim Bikinis are available in 3 sizes (small, medium, large). With all of their model pictures on their website ( & instagram ) wearing a size small I still wasn't sure what size I should order. I ended up basing my bikini top size decision on the model image and went with a size small.

For me, deciding on bottoms was a bit trickier. I do not have wide hips by any means but I hate bottoms that are too tight or cut in and would much rather buy a larger size that is more flattering instead of a smaller size that is too tight or doesn't look as good. I did a bit of instagram research (stalking) and went on a hunt through all of the tagged @faeswim pictures for others who had ordered the Vada bottoms in hopes of asking what size they were wearing. I was lucky enough to stumble across another blogger with a Fae Swim review in Silver ( A Little Bikini Blog ) who mentioned that the silver material specifically was a bit stiff at first. Knowing that, I decided to get the bottoms in a medium (& I am glad that I did).

FIT

The Maven Top in small fit perfectly! I am in love with the style which can be worn for a wide range of different (beach or non beach) related activities. Perfect for lounging, or more active adventures, the Maven Top fits snug in a super flattering way. I have even found myself wearing it for non beach related outings, it is just that comfortable :).  This style top is also extremely flattering and has a nice natural push up fit that really enhances the girls which is always a plus.

The medium bottoms ended up fitting like a glove. They were a bit stiff when I put them on at first but after wearing for a couple of hours they were softer and just needed breaking in. The actual style of the bottoms are intended to be worn higher up on your hips but I found that they also work as more of a straight across low rise bottom, but when I say low rise I mean LOW RISE. The way they cut in the front making almost a V style (which I love) makes them extremely low rise even for me in a size medium.

Both the top and bottom are double lined with really high quality material. When I received my order I was really impressed with the quality and overall make of the pieces. For an even more comfortable fit I would also recommend purchasing one of their solid colors (besides silver). With the limited edition silver being a bit more stiff, the regular available color choices are going to fit with a bit more give and stretch to them.

ORDERING

Fae Swim is an Australian brand but they use DHL express worldwide shipping. After placing my order on their website I received my order in only 3 days. It arrived in record time and shipping was roughly $20 AUD which is right around $15 USD (not so bad when you consider where it is coming from and how quick it will arrive – certainly worth the shipping cost). At $79 AUD per piece plus shipping this set is about $130 USD. Their entire website is in AUD so if you are ordering in the US it will actually be less than what is displayed because everything on the site is displayed in AUD. The bikini also comes in this really cute branded Fae Swim waterproof bag that can be used to hold your bikini (dry or wet) before or after wear.

DISCOUNTS

Before ordering any bikini online I always look for a coupon code. I found that Fae Swim offers discount codes for their website via instagram on Black Friday and Christmas. Right now they are also offering up to 30% off if you subscribe to their emails. This is a great deal and if you are looking to order I highly recommend signing up so you can get an extra 30% off!

COMING SOON

Fae Swim recently release a sneak peak (CLICK HERE) of their new black and white bikini colors that will soon be available in their classic styles. I love love love a good little black bikini and think the Onyx is going to be incredible. I also love the idea of mixing and matching the Onyx (black) and Ivory (white) together for a custom Fae Swim look.
